About

Button Pusher’s 1st album “Automaticity” coming in mid 2010.

Main Songwriters Bliss and Isoe met in Eugene, Oregon through their mutual drummer who played in each of their bands, Sir Basil and Hanta. Discovering similar musical insights in each other, they collaborated in studio recording projects for several years, often via cross-country correspondence, before Bliss moved to Chicago to form Button Pushers with Isoe in 2007.

A long search for the right combo of players ensued as they cycled through 9 different friends and strangers over the next year. The advanced nature of the music required frequent practice and were often difficult, which led to the decision to only audition musicians in the immediate area of Chicago where they live. The line-up quickly solidified with the additions of Olson (drums) and Hirsch (bass) along with their unique sound.

Each member of the Button Pushers boasts over 10 years of experience playing in live bands across the nation. A BP performance is driven by vocal melodies and refined arrangements, never lacking a strong hook. The songwriting pedigree of Bliss and Isoe goes back even further, drawing from their catalogue of originals going back 15 years.  With so many songs of various genres, crossover appeal is strong; everyone goes home humming a Button Pushers tune, rarely the same one.
